Two Drugs for Sickle Cell Disease: Crizanlizumab (Adakveo) and Voxelotor (Oxbryta)

The FDA has approved two new drugs for sickle cell
disease: crizanlizumab-tmca (Adakveo – Novartis), an
IV P-selectin blocker, and voxelotor (Oxbryta – GBT),
an oral hemoglobin S (HbS) polymerization inhibitor.
